CAB 6 – “INHABIT, OUTHABIT” EXHIBITION THROWBACK
As the 6th edition of the Chicago Architectural Biennial – SHIFT: Architecture in Times of Radical Change came to an end at the end of February, we would like to highlight our contribution to one of the included exhibitions “Inhabit, Outhabit”, where we presented our LANDSKRONHOF project as part of a display that brought together 29 collective housing projects from around the world, most realized within the past decade. From refugee camps to high-end developments, they question conventional housing models and explore new ways of living together—rethinking ownership, family structures, shared spaces, sustainability, and material innovation. At a time of a global housing crisis, these projects act as “letters from the field”: concrete examples that challenge entrenched inequalities and point beyond profit-driven models toward more collective, inclusive, and sustainable forms of living. Concept, development, and exhibition design: Igo Kommers Wender and Florencia Rodriguez; Associate curators for Inhabit, Outhabit: Alexander Eisenschmidt, Camilo Restrepo, and Magdalena Tagliabue; Assistant curator: Gabriela de Paula Weinert, with the support of Felipe Bailez (PLOT), and Natalie Wess; Editorial support: Daniela Osorio Sanudo; Furniture and models: Adam Labarge; Video protocol and audiovisual concept development: Pablo Gerson; Video editors: Chancho de Agua; Graphic design by Estúdio MARGEM; “Inhabit, Outhabit” is produced with the support of PLOT and the University of Illinois Chicago.
